Discus Use in Children
1. The dose in the Diskus device is checked.
2. The device turns on.
3. The device is held horizontally. The dose loading latch is pushed forward and it is seen that the dose indicator moves backwards.4. Sit upright or stand up. Keep your head upright and slightly tilt your head back, hold the device in a horizontal position.
5. Exhale away from the device until the lungs are empty.
6. Place the mouth of the device between your teeth and grasp the device firmly with your lips.
7. Breathe as Deep and FAST as you can
8. Hold your breath for 10 seconds. While holding your breath, move the device away from your mouth and close your mouth. Hold your breath for 10 seconds and then exhale.
– In order to better absorb the drug in the device, one more deep breath can be taken and the breath can be held for 10 seconds without touching the dose loading latch.
9. If a second dose is to be administered, after waiting for 1 minute, the same procedures are repeated starting from item 1.
10. The cover of the device is closed.
11. After the application, gargle your mouth and throat with plenty of water to prevent thrush and coughing in the mouth. Do not swallow the water. You can brush your teeth instead of mouthwash with water.
Things to pay attention:
– Discus type drugs are recommended for people over 6 years old and who can take this drug. It is not recommended for those who cannot draw strong enough and deep enough. – Never store in the refrigerator. You can store it at room temperature.
